Greetings and welcome to my site! I encourage you to explore my site. My art says infinitely more than these words can communicate.
About Me
I am inspired by architecture, mythology, anthropology, religion, spirituality, dreams, the natural world, and our own society. They are all tied together by an underling theme--the recognition of the sublime, the recognition that there is a reality beyond the normal senses. I wish my work to reflect glimpses of this reality.
My work started out in colored pencils, evolved to water color pencils, and on to oils and acrylics. I then discovered, like so many today, the magic of the digital world. I started to combine the old traditional with the new. Some of it is all digital.
Sometimes I have an idea or image of how a new piece will look; however, when I begin, it always takes on a life of its own and alters the final outcome. I have learned I am just the vehicle.

Bio
Rachel grew up behind an art school in Hollywood where her friends and her would sneak in on weekends and look at the glorious mess the students had made during the week. (They also saw a great deal of art.)
Across the street, an artist colony thrived. This is where she spent my childhood watching these artists for hours and asking them about their techniques. She would go home and try to imitate them. Rachel claimed—“I was a spectacular failure.”
Nevertheless, she still loved how vibrant colors ran across the canvas. Her uncle, Al Boime, Professor of art history at UCLA gave her an informal education by “dragging” her to art museums across L.A. As she grew older, she became interested in all the creative arts--dance, theater, music.
After college, and a degree in English, she craved the visual arts. The bug was nipping at her heels.
